Bedroom One Chambre Empire

The Empire Bedroom
This is the largest bedroom (50 sq ms) and is on the ground floor.  This was once part of the kitchen and the tiled stove and chimney breast have been kept.
The decoration and furnishings are stylish with 2 twin beds, ‘Louis Philippe’ which can be joined together or left separate, and there is room for a 3rd bed if required.  There is an elegant bookcase, Voltaire chair and table with rugs and carpets and old master paintings on the walls.  The atmosphere is one of elegance and charm.  The room opens into the courtyard which provides a soft morning light.  It opens also into the central hallway of the Chateau which leads you through to the terrace and adjoining rooms – the library, the dining room and the kitchen.
The ensuite bathroom is equally stylish with marble surfaces and and old-fashioned bath tub.
This large bedroom is suitable for couples with a child and for guests wising to stay on the ground floor.  Access is from a large terrace which serves as a garden living room, ideal for relaxing.
The four other Bedrooms are upstairs on the first floor and are reached via an old spiral staircase, fitted with forged iron handrail.  The walls of the staircase and ground floor central hall are all attractively decorated with 19th century ‘trompe l’oeil’ wall frescoes.  This central hall acts as a welcoming communal area for all the guests and is nicely furnished with antique pieces, from here you reach a small terrace overlooking the park which is pleasantly cool in the mornings and at sunset.
